In groups explore and dissect a different market place in Melbourne.
Investigate the market through choosing a stall that captures your interests as a cultural investigator. Think about why the stall is relevant to the designs studios agenda, particularly through it’s offering to market goers.
Once you have become an expert in your chosen market stall and analyzed it, create your own market cart which is to act as a “culture cart”. The cart is to be mobile, operated by yourself and your partner. Think about your cultural backgrounds and how they can be grafted to create a new offering. What will your food offering be? What is the form of the cart and why? What is the name of your cart and why? Does the cart need specific functional requirements because of the food offering? Design everything with intent, things such as: Signage, colour, pattern, form and materials need to have a reason for being what they are.
